Every Day

We know everyday maintenance can sound scary; after all, who has that kind of time? However, taking extra steps every day can go a long way in maintaining the quality of your tile and grout. At the door, make sure to take off your shoes before walking on the flooring and spreading dirt. Area rugs can also be a great option to protect the tile and grout in high traffic areas of your home.

Make sure to wipe down your tile and grout after spills or mud being tracked in with an absorbent cloth as soon as possible. This can prevent long-term staining and save you time in the future! For bathroom tile, especially in showers, it’s important to spray and wipe down your tiles with a squeegee to remove excess water and prevent build-up from products used during your shower.

Weekly

We know how tough it is to make yourself clean tile and grout on the weekends. However, adding some tunes, having the family join, and using our checklist can help you get it done in no time.

Tile

Start by removing any loose particles from your tile by sweeping with a soft-bristled broom. To catch any remaining dirt and debris, follow up by vacuuming your tile with a brush attachment. For ceramic tiles, use a few drops of dish soap and warm water to wipe down any stains left. Porcelain tile can be a bit harder to keep clean, so to ensure your tile looks radiant, take hot water with a small brush to scrub any remaining stains. For trickier stains, dilute white vinegar into the stain and let it sit for ten minutes before wiping it off.

Grout

Cleaning grout can be a multiple-step process depending on the difficulty of the stain. For mild stains, scrub your grout with warm water and a stiff brush. If there are still stains, try mixing a solution of ½ white vinegar with ½ warm water and let soak onto the grout, scrubbing the grout again. Another great option is scrubbing your grout with hydrogen peroxide to keep it looking good as new. For particularly tough stains, let Oxygen Bleach sit on the stain for no more than 10 minutes to protect the quality of your grout.
